FAQS
A decorative concrete overlay is a thin layer of modified cement that is applied to existing concrete surfaces
It is made with special additives that allow it to withstand harsh weather conditions and remain durable
The overlay is applied in thicknesses ranging from 3/32" to 3/8"
It is applied in a variety of textures and colors, and can be applied to surfaces that have already been painted, coated, or textured
The overlay will bond mechanically and chemically to the concrete to prevent delimitation
It can withstand high humidity, UV radiation, and freeze/thaw cycles without deterioration
Most concrete cracks can be repaired if the structure of the concrete is sound
The repair process involves cutting out the crack with a crack chaser blade and filling it with a two-part grout, reinforced with mesh
While we cannot guarantee that all cracks will be completely concealed, repairs often result in smaller and less noticeable cracks
If the cracks are still active, we can incorporate them into the design of the surface using a scoring technique to create a decorative pattern that can help conceal the cracks
Resurfacing preparation and installation costs an average of $5.00 to $6.00 per square foot for TUSCAN SLATE and FLEC-STONE TEXTURES
Stamped overlays cost an average of $8 to $10 per square foot, depending on the pattern
The cost per square foot decreases for larger areas
Small areas are priced on a job-by-job basis
Concrete resurfacing is a durable and long-lasting solution for improving the appearance and functionality of concrete surfaces
By using the industry's most durable coatings and cutting-edge techniques, we can achieve resurfacing that lasts for many years, with some coatings able to last up to 25 years
Resurfacing not only provides a strong and durable surface, but also helps to protect the underlying slab and extend its lifespan
To ensure the best results and the longest-lasting resurfacing, it is important to follow recommended maintenance procedures
Our cool-decking acrylic sealers can reduce the surface temperature of concrete by up to 30% compared to untreated concrete
Darker colors tend to absorb and radiate more heat than lighter colors, but our cool-decking sealer still provides better heat resistance compared to brick, tile, stone, or plain concrete
The length of time required for a project depends on the type of work being done:
Resurfacing: 4-5 days
Color sealing: 3-4 days
Clear and tint sealing: 2-3 days
Crack repair: varies
Good weather can sometimes shorten the time between applications and curing, while bad weather can cause delays
Once the final topcoat is applied, you should wait 24 hours before allowing light foot traffic and 72 hours before allowing vehicles or heavy furniture to be placed on the surface to allow the topcoat to fully cure
Be present or make arrangements for selecting colors
Turn off sprinklers
(For Driveways) Remove vehicles from the garage or driveway and keep them away from the work area
Trim back any landscaping near the work area
(Pool Decks) Remove any personal items, such as furniture, from the work area
Make sure there is access to power and water
